Leaf River is a rural town in Ogle County. It also contains Egan, a tiny town north of Leaf River.
The Milwaukee Road operated an east/west mainline through Leaf River. This is now a Canadian Pacific (DM&E) Mainline.
The Chicago Great Western operated their mainline through Egan, which is now abandoned.
